Anambra Election: What Buhari Told Me About Saturday’s Poll – Nwodo
John Nwodo, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, says President Muhammadu Buhari assured him that Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State would be free and fair.

Speaking in Enugu, Nwodo said the organization has also written to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, demanding for an observer status.
He said, “I have made representations to the President who has assured me that the elections will be free and fair.
“Ohaneze notes with satisfaction the resolve of the people of Anambra State and all the political parties in Anambra state to turn out for the elections. Not to do so would be a disservice to Anambra State and Ndigbo.”
Meanwhile, Buhari has appealed to people of Anambra State to turn out in their numbers and vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Tonye Nwoye
President Buhari made the appeal while speaking at the grand finale of the party’s campaign in Awka, the state capital.
“We have not lost sight of our campaign promises of security because without security there can be no development.
“Also we have addressed the issue of economy. We prayed hard and God answered our prayers,” he said.
