Stockholm, Sweden, has been thrown into a state of shock after a vehicle crashed into shoppers in Drottninggatan, resulting in the death of three. The truck drove into Ahlens Mall, a department store in Klarabergsgatan, crashing through the wall before it went up in flames.

Witnesses report hearing gunshots, after which the driver of the vehicle escaped. Following the attack, hundreds of shoppers were seen fleeing from the scene.
Soon after, armed police officers arrived at the store. Police Spokeswoman, Towe Hagg, confirmed the attack and revealed that the incident is being treated as a suspected terror attack. It was later discovered that it was indeed a deliberate act. Meanwhile, the subway network has been closed in the city as authorities go into control mode.

A witness, called Anna, said:

“I saw hundreds of people ran, they ran for their lives. I turned and ran as well.”

Jan Granroth, who was in a shoe shop in Queen Street when he heard screams, said:

“We stood inside a shoe store, and we heard no noise, and so people start screaming. So I look out at the store, so I see a huge truck slam into the wall opposite.”
Another witness describes the panic when the truck, which is believed to have been stolen, came out of nowhere.

“I went to the main street when a big truck came out of nowhere. I could not see if anyone was driving it but it got out of control. I saw at least two being run over. I ran as fast as I could from there,” the witness said.
