Traditional rulers in Afaraukwu community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State have spoken about the disappearance on Nnamdi Kanu and his parents.
The trio was said to have been missing since the military operation carried out by the army and community members are expressing worries over the development.
The Punch reports that the traditional rulers expressed worry specifically over the disappearance of Eze Israel Kanu who is one of their own.
They said the unknown whereabouts of the trio was giving them sleepless nights. Chimechefulam Odoemelam who is a member of the monarch’s cabinet said he was deeply worried about his whereabouts and that of his wife and son.
He said: “The truth is that we have not seen or heard from our Eze since we all came back. Everybody is confused about his whereabouts because we do not know where to look for him.
“We have reported the case to the body of traditional rulers in Ibeku, Umuahia kingdom where we belong and our Chairman, Eze Henry Ezekwem, has promised to give us a date to meet him on the matter.
“We are hoping that the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers which he (Eze Kanu) is a member will also lend their voice in asking for his whereabouts.”
He however said the case has not been reported to the police because they were advised to stop further action on his whereabouts until the umbrella body of traditional institution in the Ibeku kingdom takes a decision on the matter.
He called on the federal government to probe the invasion of the palace and find out if the soldiers were holding the trio.
