Buhari Will Take Us To Next Level – Osinbajo
Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari, will fulfil all yearnings of the citizenry before leaving office.
This, he said, would, however, depend on people’s readiness to work hard and also support the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led administration in all the country’s socio-political and economic life and if corrupt people would not steal the country’s money.
Osibajo stated this in Osogbo, capital of Osun State, yesterday, where he launched the nationwide Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) clinic and Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
The MSME clinic is a scheme under the office of the vice president targeted at helping small and medium enterprises to be positioned for critical roles in re-energising the economy of the country.
“We have a government that will never steal to do anything for us. All we need do is work hard. This is a people-oriented government. So, Buhari will do his best to complete all projects in his interest to serve the people. All that Buhari has promised to do will be done fully; to take us from where we are to the next level.
“Let’s work together. The country belongs to all of us. If we use our resources well, we will all prosper,” Osinbajo said.
The vice president stressed that small and medium enterprises are a part of the engine room of the nation’s economy.
He has promised approval of micro credit loans to 50,000 Nigerians to empower them for small and medium enterprise businesses for sustainability and economic prosperity.
Osinbajo also disclosed that annexes of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) would be established in Osun state, to monitor products and activities of the SMES stakeholders for creditable productivity and efficiency.
On his part, Governor Rauf Aregbesola announced the empowerment of 20,000 citizens of the state for the SMES. Among the beneficiaries, the first 10,000 would get N500,000 interest-free loan with immediate effect, while the second batch of 10,000 would get between N500,000 and N1 million.
In company of Aregbesola and a teeming government officials, Osinbajo went round to inspect diverse small and medium enterprise products on display.
