Coutinho was subjected to three bids from Barcelona but Liverpool refused to sell.
The Reds rejected a £118million deal for their star player even though he had handed in a transfer request.
And reports in Spain claim the Brazilian is not happy with how Barcelona handled the situation.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Coutinho is fuming that Barca did not stick to their word and sign him.
Barca claimed Liverpool were demanding £183m to let Coutinho go – a suggestion the Premier League club deny.
Liverpool’s owners FSG always maintained they would not sell the 25-year-old – even though a deal could have paid off last year’s Anfield expansion project in one swoop.
Don Balon claim Coutinho was given assurances he would be heading to the Nou Camp. But Barca failed on those promises and he is frustrated that he now must spend at least half a season an Anfield.
Coutinho is expected to return to the Liverpool squad for their Champions League clash with Sevilla on Wednesday.
He may also be needed for the Premier League game with Burnley next weekend after Sadio Mane was sent off in the 5-0 loss to Manchester City yesterday.
