if only we can meet again
and play nchò as we always do

if only we can meet again
and cuddle on the hausa-made mat

if only we can meet again
and share those stories of funfair

if only you could listen to my heart
and appreciate the sound it produces

if only us…could remain us.
and mould us together.

if only I can stand by the udala tree
and watch you fetch water from cheleku river

if only nne will understand the bond..
and leave us alone.

if only you can come over
so that we play kpum’kpum’kpu’ogene.

if only mama Arii will mind her business
and leave us playing on the field

if only I can meet you again…
and let you know that I miss you.
