Plateau commissioner dies while jogging with governor
Reports say the commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Plateau, Mr Samuel Galadima, slumped and died early Wednesday, March 22 while he was jogging with Governor Simon Lalong.
The Sun reports that the incident happened at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos, the capital of Plateau state.
The incident has also been confirmed by the director of press affairs, Mr Emmanuel Nanle.
“Yes, the commissioner slumped while jogging and was rushed to the Plateau Specialist Hospital, where he died,” Nanle said adding that the commissioner was gasping for breath by the time he arrived the hospital.
“Doctors tried to stabilise him but could not. We have lost him,” the News Agency of Nigeria quoted him as adding.
The death of the commissioner is coming days after Pius Dashe, chief administration officer in Plateau state Government House, was confirmed dead.
Dashe was said to have died on Thursday, March 16 after a brief illness as disclosed by Emmanuel Nanle, director of press affairs.
Governor Simon Lalong, who paid a condolence visit to the deceased’s family house in Jos, described Dashe’s death as “very shocking and most unfortunate.”
