African Union Commission (AUC) & All Africa Music Award is proud to present the Nominees to the Biggest Afrima Awards 2017, Ekukole one of the members of Afrima from Cameroon said Afrima Awards 2017 Nominees are thoroughly vetted before picking up, He said the nominees were picked based on production quality, talent and creativity, melody, originality and authenticity, composition and arrangement. It has to do with the quality of music not on the number of views from any online videoplatform, some songs from certain regions have more than half a billion views and would have garnered the awards based on such sentiment, but it is not so. It has to do with quality.

Afrima Awards 2017 Nominees was listed in 33 Different Categories which comprises of the Regional Category which covers the five African regions (Eastern, Southern, Western, Northern & Central) and the genre-based Continental Category.
