Former Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen died of illness in Beijing at 10:06 p.m. local time on Tuesday, according to Xinhua News Agency.
As an outstanding leader in China’s diplomacy, Qian served as the country’s foreign minister from 1988 to 1998.
During his ten-year tenure, he made visits to over one hundred countries.
