‘You’ve Expired…Pack All Your Bags And Leave Aso Rock On May, 2019’ – Cleric Tells Buhari
The Bishop of Egbu (Anglican Communion) in Imo state, Right Reverend Geoffrey Okorafor, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to leave office on May 29, 2019 against the inducement by political sycophants.
He urged the President not to heed to the advice of those pushing him to re-contest, adding that those suggesting a second term to the President were his worst enemies.
“President Buhari should pack all his bag and baggage from Aso Rock, if by God’s grace he pulls through the hazards of ruling this difficult and complex entity called Nigeria.
“Again, with his age and health challenges, which makes him look frail, President Buhari needs nobody to tell him that he is expiring by the day. He has achieved his life ambition having been Head of State and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Okorafor stated this in his 82-paged Presidential Address delivered during the first session of the 8th Synod of the Diocese, held at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Egbu in Owerri North Council Area of state.
The Anglican prelate further described Buhari as a good actor, who should leave the stage when the ovation was highest and loudest.
On fight against corruption, Okorafor thanked Buhari for choosing zero tolerance for corruption as his administrative mantra, but questioned what had happened to the recovered looted fund by his (Buhari) administration.
He said, “If the President had recovered looted money, when would Nigerians be given the account? I therefore express fear, if the funds are were passing from one corrupt hand to the other.”
In another development, the Bishop admonished Governor Rochas Okorocha of the state to have a rethink on his administrative policies in the state especially in his present second term in office.
Citing Matthew 16:13, Mark 8:27 and Luke 9:18, Okorafor stated that Okorocha’s popularity was questionable.
He said, “I urge Okorocha to remove ego and sincerely access his popularity in office. This second term is the best and appropriate time for Okorocha to test himself. For his sycophants, it is ‘Hosanna! Hosanna!’ but for the entire masses, it is ‘Crucify Him! Crucify Him!’ as he quits office.”
He further advised the Governor to take projects in bits so as to qualitatively finish them and start new ones.
“Road projects, free education projects, unemployment problems or any of the like should be taken step-by-step,” he added.
