WWE wrestling star Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan dies of throat cancer at 73

American professional wrestler and manager, Raymond Louis Heenan, better known as Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, has died aged 72.

 

Heenan who was best known as the showman manager of 1980s and 90s stars such as Andre the Giant, Angelo Poffo, Guy Mitchell, the Valiant Brothers, Nick Bockwinkel, Jesse Ventura and later as a commentator in the WWF/WWE franchise, died Saturday after a long battle with throat cancer.

 

His death was first announced on Sunday by fellow WWE commentator Jim Ross “The news of Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan’s passing today gutted me. I loved our time together. No one ever did it better than the Wease.” He tweeted.

Since his death was announced WWE celebrities have been paying tribute on social media.

Heenan who was born on the 1st of November 1944, is survived by his wife Cynthia, whom he married in 1976, their daughter, Jessica, and his grandson Austin.
