Politics: ANAMBRA TO ENJOY CONTINUED POLICE, GOVERNMENT SYNERGY IN CRIME PREVENTION.
The Anambra State Police command says it will continue to work in synergy with the state government to ensure that Anambra remains the safest state in Nigeria.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Okaula, stated this at the command headquarters, Amawbia, while receiving a delegation from the traditional rule of Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, Igwe Peter Ezenwa, led by Chief Chukwuji Ejiofor, who visited him in his office.
Mr. Okaula disclosed that he had personally joined in patrolling parts of the state and told Oba people to take advantage of the new Divisional Police Officer recently deployed to Idemili South Local Government Area.
Commissioner Okaula described Oba as a strategic place that ought to have stronger police formation.
Earlier, the President-General of Oba Patriotic Union, Chief Ifeatu Uzowulu, told Commissioner Okaula that Police and other law enforcement agencies had contributed immensely to tackling security challenges in the town.
In a vote of thanks, a member of the delegation, Sir Felix Uzor, who paid glowing tribute to the Police Service Commission for promoting the immediate past commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Hassan Karma, to an Assistant Inspector Genera of Police, and replacing him with another high quality commissioner of police, Mr. Sam Okaula, described security of life and property as a collective responsibility.
