Horror Movie Legend, George Romero Dies At 77
George A. Romero; the writer and director behind the classic horror flick “Night of the Living Dead” is dead.
Romero who has been called the “father of modern horror films” died on Sunday at the age of 77 following a brief but aggressive battle with lung cancer..
His longtime production partner Peter Grunwald confirmed his death saying Romero passed away “peacefully in his sleep” while “listening to the score of ‘The Quiet Man,’ one of his all-time favorite films, with his wife Suzanne Desrocher Romero, and daughter, Tina Romero, at his side. Romero leaves behind a loving family, many friends and a filmmaking legacy that has endured, and will continue to endure, the test of time,” Grunwald said.
Some of his best known works include ‘Night of the living dead’, Dawn of the Dead (1978), Day of the Dead (1985), Land of the Dead (2005), Diary of the Dead (2007) and Survival of the Dead
