Gunmen kidnap two expatriate workers, school proprietor in Akwa Ibom
Two expatriate workers and a school proprietor have been abducted by unknown gunmen in Akwa Ibom State. The expatriates were abducted from the hotel rooms in Eket, Eket Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, April 9th.
Dr. Idongesit Udom (pictured) the proprietor of Sure Polytechnic in Akwa Ibom State and ex-Mobil staff was kidnapped same Sunday morning in his country home in Ukanafun LGA while worshiping in a church.
Spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom Police Command, ASP Chukwu Okechukwu, who confirmed the abduction, said that police has commenced investigation on the incidents.
There are no information on the identities, workplace and nationalities of the expatriates, he added.
“We are aware of the incidents. I am assuring you that efforts are on top gear to secure them. As I am talking to you, the Commissioner of Police and some senior police officers are on ground at Eket and its environs searching for the expatriates and even the man from Ukanafun” said ASP Okechukwu.
