Google Home is rolling out support for multiple users

It looks like Google has begun rolling a major feature to its Home connected speaker: support for multiple accounts.
That’s huge, because it means that more than one user will be able to get personalized responses when they ask questions about their schedule, or access their own Spotify playlists.

We first heard about this in March, when the good folks at Android Police spotted some code in the app hinting at multi-user support.
However, it appears that the feature isn’t live yet: There’s just a card in the Home app on Android and iOS describing the new feature, but there’s no way to activate it.
We also don’t know exactly how it will work, but hopefully, Home will be able to recognize different users’ voices and switch between accounts on the fly (or at least do so without having users fiddle with the app).
Home previously added the ability to control your smart gadgets like lights and entertainment equipment, as well as support for ordering and paying for purchases from Google Express partners including places like Costco, Whole Foods, and Walgreens. it also launched in the UK recently.
We’ve contacted Google to learn more and will update this post if there’s a response.
