Fani-Kayode Hails Donald Trump For Recognising Jerusalem As Israel’s Capital
Nigeria’s former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has hailed the United States President, Donald Trump for recognising Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.
Fani-Kayode’s commendation is coming a day after the President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and directed the State Department to begin planning to move the embassy there, upending decades of U.S. policy on one of the most contentious regional conflicts in the world.
“Old challenges demand new approaches,” Mr. Trump had said in a televised address on Wednesday at the White House. “It is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.”
Mr. Trump’s decision has been condemned by traditional US allies while Saudi Arabia called it “unjustified and irresponsible”, with France and the UK saying they did not support the decision.
But the PDP Chieftain, Fani-Kayode in a tweet on Thursday morning said : “I commend @realDonaldTrump and the USA for RECOGNISING JERUSALEM (the City of David) as the CAPITAL of Israel.
“This is a great and courageous move! Millions of believers are overjoyed! Jerusalem has always been and will always be the UNDIVIDED and ETERNAL capital of Israel”.
