BREAKING: Buhari Extends UK Vacation, Writes National Assembly
President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his 10-day vacation and has written to the National Assembly to that effect.
The letter signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, made available to our correspondent by the Personal Assistant to the president on Media engagement, Bashir Ahmad, stated that the extension was necessitated in order for the president to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.
Part of the letter reads: “The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening (Sunday), but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning.”
Daily Independent in its lead story on Tuesday August 14 titled ‘Pressure Mounts On Buhari Not To Seek Reelection’ had indicated that the president will likely extend his stay in the UK.
It wrote: “The president is currently on a 10-day vacation in the United Kingdom (UK) and findings indicate that the holiday may be extended for another 11 days.”
